dc.description.abstractThe miscible displacement flow of a viscoplastic fluid by a Newtonian fluid is studied numerically and analytically in a near-horizontal 2D channel. We focus on a density-unstable flow configuration where the displacing fluid is heavier than the displaced one with a laminar imposed flow. Using numerical and analytical approaches, we demonstrate that the channel inclination has the significant impacts on the viscoplastic flow morphology and front height. In addition, we study the yield stress impacts on the viscoplastic flow features
