dc.descriptionItem consists of a cardboard poster for the 1966 Mariposa Folk Festival. At the top of the long, vertical poster there is a circle of a flame pattern printed in orange, directly onto the natural cardboard. Within the circle, in stylized, western, large letters it reads "Mariposa Folk Festival" and in smaller, bold letters below: "Aug 5-6-7th 1966 Innis Lake, Ontario. Below the circle, centred text lists the acts: " Beers Family, Tom Brandon, Canadian Indian Dancers, The Gosvenors, Carolyn Hester, Big Walter Horton, Gordon Lightfoot, Alan MacRae, Owen McBride, New Lost City Ramblers, Tom Paxton, Pete Seeger, Staple Singers, Stormy Clovers, Sunnyland Slim, Ian Tyson, Doc Watson & Son, Johnny Young, And Many Others" It goes on to list "Special Daytime Guests: Lorena Clark, Edith Fowke, Klass Van Graft, Tom Kines, David Rea, Michael Sherman, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee & Others." Below there is more text providing further information about the festival: "Workshops, Seminars, Swimming, Restricted Camping, Childrens Concert, Picnic Areas. Ticket Locations: Sam The Record Man, 347 Yonge Street, Toronto; Riverboat Coffeehouse, Yorkville and Avenue Road; Mail Orders and Information: Mariposa Folk Festival, 20 College Street, Toronto, Ontario. Friday Concert $3.00 (reserved section $3.25). Saturday Grounds ticket $2.00, good 10 am - 5:30 pm. Saturday Concert $3.50 (reserved section $3.75). Sunday Concert $2.50 (reserved section $2.75). Weekend ticket $10.00 (Includes all above with reserved seating and free parking). Weekend ticket with camping permit $12.50 (Issued only to those who qualify. Information on Request). Parking Evenings $1.00, Daytime .50. Festival program as scheduled rain or shine." Below the text there is a simple, line-drawn map explaining how to get to Innis Lake. Bordering the bottom of the poster is an orange and black expressionistic line-drawing showing festival merriment as represented by tents, flags and piles of instruments. Central to the drawing are three men who all appear to be singing. The man on the left is playing a banjo and the two men to the right are playing guitars.en
