Item Open Access Les compétences globales sont-elles globales?(2021-07-06) Lemesre-Valy, Agnes; Peguret, MurielArtificial Intelligence, digitalization and robotization are reshaping our lives, impacting both academic institutions and workplaces. Specific competencies, known as Global Competencies (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, ), are now gaining publicity and prevalence. They are especially moved forward by international organizations both in education and in the corporate world. Beyond a common terminology, what are the similarities and differences between the Global Competencies in Higher Education and in the workplace in Ontario Canada? For a qualitative incursion into this question, we interviewed two individuals, one involved in academia and one in a business. Our study revealed that Global Competencies are complex and paradoxical, variable, multiple and interconnected. They refer to a global process that expresses itself in their local implementation. They require a stronger dialog between the government, Universities, and the corporate world to develop common expectations in an effective ecosystem.
