Abstract

This article proposes a systematic study of the most salient linguistic features of the French spoken in Frenchville, Pennsylvania, at the end of the 20th century. It also attempts to account for their origin & explanation in relation with the evolution of popular varieties of French & of northern Gallo-Roman dialects, & in the sociolinguistic context of North America.
