Abstract

The purpose of this work is to calculate the scattering behavior of a non-coplanar ionization collision of an electron with a helium atom. Relativistic distorted waves were used to describe the wave functions of the incident and scattered electron, and at large distances from the ionized atom the distorted waves for the outgoing electrons are a linear combination of relativistic coulomb waves. The T-matrix and scattering cross section were calculated with the assumptions that the incident electron impacted the atom perpendicularly to the scattering plane, defined by the trajectories of the two outgoing electrons which were assumed to have equal energies.
