Description
Researchers Peter Kotanen, Bob Jefferies and Dick Kerbes were travelling from Arviat to the Maguse River in 1986. Peter Kotanen was in the canoe while Bob Jefferies and Dick Kerbes were travelling on land on 3-wheelers. The canoe's motor blew up entering the river mouth, and the researchers were trapped on a small island for 3 days. The data collected on the small island and was published in the Journal of Applied Ecology.
