Throughout this film, we understand that his sister has been the subject of an ideologically-motivated murder. It is the law in Iran that he is now responsible to make the decision on the perpetrators ultimate punishment. Retributive Minds utilizes a specific law in Iran, Qisas, to explore the serious ethical and personal dilemmas that a judiciary system influenced by religion can pose to an individual.Author owns copyright, except where explicitly noted.
