Focusing on small intimate and fleeting moments from their everyday lives while juxtaposing these scenes with archival stills, the film intends to contrast the settlement of a town with its future, questioning the notion of development and progress in these rural areas. Kilómetro 126 portrays the dreams and aspirations of those who stayed in La Cumbre, a town that once stood for the development and progress of Colombia.
