Filmed in fragmentary close-up, Scaffold stitches together the conversations, interactions, and people-watching that make up the daily grind for two Bosnian-Canadian construction workers. The objective of my film is to present viewpoints of labourers that have travelled from afar to a foreign city to find work. To represent this stylistically, the film will document the process of construction using scaffolding as a framework for depicting immigrant construction workers. It will attempt to capture their essence, character, and idiosyncrasies as strategies to create a uniquely subjective view of the lived experience of their trade. It is my hope to capture the sentiment of a contemporary multicultural city by filtering it through this lens.enAuthor owns copyright, except where explicitly noted.
