dc.description.abstract This paper odysseys the narratives, images and information of my hyperreal environments. It chronicles my steady rise and fall from the intense, climactic, dazzling and ecstatic narratives of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Cannonball Run, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jaws and The Omen to the sudden realization in university that I am nothing but the embodiment of a post-structural non-self. Down and out without a graduate degree to my name I embark on an odyssey to cure my sense of being insignificant, invisible, of feeling like an extra. Beside me at the helm, as my hyperreal guru is Robert Altman's The Player. en_US
